Woodford Underground Station is an interchange station on the London Underground Central Line (Epping and Fairlop Branches) in the London Borough of Redbridge in Woodford Green in Essex in Travelcard Zone 4.

History[]

The station was opened in 22 August 1856 as part of the Eastern Counties Railways line to Loughton which makes it one of the oldest stations operated on the network. After various takeovers of the railway lines, it was transferred to the underground 14 December 1947.
