The Young V&A, known as the V&A Museum of Childhood, is a branch of the Victoria and Albert Museum (the V&A) on Cambridge Heath Road, and is located Bethnal Green and the location of the national collection of childhood objects in the United Kingdom.
History[]
The Bethnal Green Museum was founded in 1872[1] The building was used to display a variety of collections at different times. In the 19th century, it contained food and animal products, and various pieces of art including the works which can now be seen at the Wallace Collection.[2]
V&A Museum of Childhood[3] was renamed the Young V&A in 2021 as part of its £13m redevelopment. It will reopen in 2023, and will be aimed at 0–14-year-olds.[4]
