I cannot find any evidence for a by-election at Clapham after his death in July 1933. Perhaps the seat lay vacant until the next elections in March 1934? Lozleader (talk) 17:38, June 8, 2016 (UTC)
- Seems rather a long time to be un-represented.
Perhaps there should be an 'active queries' page (which might also include the remaining 'Missing Mayors'). Jackiespeel (talk) 22:15, June 8, 2016 (UTC)

- In fact the last by-election held for the 1931-34 LCC was on 23 February 1933 when Basil Futvoye Marsden-Smedley was returned unopposed in place of the late Ernest Louis Meinertzhagen who had died on 6 January. Lozleader (talk) 14:57, June 14, 2016 (UTC)
