Geffrye Street is a street between Hoxton and Haggerston, located in the London Borough of Hackney.
History[]
Geffrye Street was formerly known as Maria Street.[1]
The new location for the North London Railway War Memorial was chosen as the London Overground reuses the former railway tracks that used to run into Broad Street, and the cenotaph was moved to Geffrye Street in 2011.[2]
The Museum of the Home has been reoriented from west to east after redevelopment in 2023, allowing Geffrye Street to feel like an extension of the museum.[3]
