Stephen Riou Benson (1896-29 November 1961) was a barrister and local politician.

Educated at Charterhouse, Benson was called to the bar at the Inner Temple in 1923. Active in the Conservative Party, he unsuccessfully contested the seat of West Ham South at the 1935 general election.

He entered local politics in 1937 when he was elected as a Municipal Reform Party member of the London County Council representing Wandsworth, Balham and Tooting. He resigned the seat on 18 February 1942.
