Robert William George Humphreys (July 1929 – 1985) was a social worker and Labour Party politician.

Educated at Westminster College and the Institute for the Scientific Treatment of Delinquency (now the Centre for Crime and Justice Studies), he lived in Kilburn and was chairman of the Hampstead Co-operative Party.

In 1958 he was elected to the London County Council as one of three Labour Party councillors representing Lambeth, Norwood, with all three seats being gained from the Conservative Party. At the next county council elections in 1961 the Conservatives regained the Norwood electoral division and Humphreys lost his seat.

At the 1959 General Election, Humphreys stood as the Labour candidate for the Sussex constituency of East Grinstead, a safe Conservative seat.

Humphreys was a member of Hampstead Borough Council and was elected to the successor authority, Camden London Borough Council, representing Kilburn Ward in 1964. He served two terms as Mayor of Camden from 1976–78 and stood down from Camden council in 1978.

He was also a member of the Greater London Council representing Lambeth 1964 – 1967.

He was chairman of Social Services Committee of the London Boroughs Association, and in the 1978 Birthday Honours he was awarded the OBE for his work in this capacity.
