Pudding Mill Lane DLR station is on the Docklands Light Railway (Stratford branch) in Stratford in the London Borough of Newham. The station is on the boundary between Travelcard Zone 2 and Travelcard Zone 3 which is the closest station to the London Stadium.
History[]
The old station opened 15 January 1996 along side the Great Eastern Main Line. With its platforms being very narrow and having limited space to cope with large crowds (which is why it was shut during the Olympics in 2012). It was closed and a new station was opened in 2014 to allow Crossrail to pass though the site to connect the tunnel portal with the Great Eastern Main Line.
A new station was built and finally opened in April 2014 to allow the old station to be demolished to make way for Crossrail to connect the portal to the Great Eastern Main Line, which was completed in 2018.
In 2021, parts of London flooded after torrential rain during a thunderstorm. This caused the ground area around Pudding Mill Lane to flood on the 25th of July.[1]
