The Palace of Westminster, commonly known as the Houses of Parliament, is a building located in Westminster. It serves as the meeting place of the two houses of the Parliament of the United Kingdom — the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The palace is a royal residence and is owned by the British monarch in right of the Crown.

The current 19th-century Gothic Revival palace was designed by Sir Charles Barry and Augustus Pugin.

The Elizabeth Tower is part of the Palace of Westminster.

800 year old Medieval bone fragments discovered beneath the Palace of Westminster in 1992.

The palace is currently undergoing a major restoration and renewal programme.
