Armorial bearings granted to the Mayor, Aldermen and Burgesses of Malden and Coombe by letters patent dated 14 August 1936

Malden and Coombe was a local government district from 1936-1965. Although it lay in the county of Surrey, it formed part of suburban London, and was included in the Metropolitan Police District and the London Passenger Transport Area.

The borough was formed when the existing urban district of The Maldens and Coombe, which dated from 1895, was granted a charter of incorporation. The urban district had been formed from New Malden, which had been governed by a local board since 1866 and the two parishes of Coombe and Malden, previously administered as part of Kingston Rural District.

Since 1965 the area has been included in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames.
