Railway station in Travelcard Zone 2 opened 1872, with electrification instituted in 1960. A London Overground station on the Lea Valley Lines
The station was reduced to weekday peak period-only service for much of the 1980s & 1990s and had its services suspended altogether for more than two years after a 1985 fire that seriously damaged the main station buildings, putting its future in serious doubt. Repairs were eventually carried out and the station reopened in 1988, though still on a restricted basis (like neighbouring Cambridge Heath Station) - it eventually regained a regular daytime service at the May 1998 timetable change.
