Lawrence Stevens (c.1824 - 5 May 1894) was a builder and local politician.
Born in Stratford, he was the son of Lawrence Stevens, a bricklayer and his wife Mary.
By 1848 he was living in Bermondsey although he also maintained a home in Plaistow near his birthplace. By 1881 he was employing "four men and two lads" in his building business.
A member of the Rotherhithe Vestry, at the first election to the London County Council in 1889 he became a Progressive Party councillor representing Southwark, Rotherhithe. He held the seat until his death.
