Dr John Smyth Crone (25 November 1858-November 1945) was an Irish physician and literary editor who settled in Willesden, Middlesex, where he was also active in local politics.
Born in Belfast, he obtained his medical qualifications at Queen's University before establishing his medical practice in Willesden. A member of Willesden Urban District Council of which he was chairman from 1900-03. He represented the Kensal Green area on Middlesex County Council from 1907-16. He resigned his county council seat to take up the position of Deputy Coroner for the Western Division of Middlesex.

He was President of Irish Literary Society from 1918-25 and founder editor of Irish Book Lover from 1919-24 as well as the author of a number of books.
