A station on the Piccadilly Line in Travelcard Zone 5 opened on 21 July 1884 as part of the Metropolitan District Railway, Piccadilly services beginning 1933, platforms resited 14 July 1975: known as Hounslow Barracks until 1925. The station was the terminus of a single track branch line extension from the DR's existing route to Hounslow Town Station (now closed and the site occupied by Hounslow Bus Station) on Hounslow High Street.
