Heidi Alexander (born 17 April 1975) is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for Lewisham East since the 2010 general election. She was appointed Shadow Secretary of State for Health on 13 September 2015. She resigned from the shadow cabinet on 26 June 2016.
Heidi Alexander was elected to Lewisham Borough Council as a councillor for the Evelyn ward in 2004, and served as Deputy Mayor of Lewisham and Cabinet Member for regeneration from 2006. She has been Member of Parliament (MP) for Swindon South since 2024. In addition, she was also the MP for Lewisham East from 2010 to 2018, and served as Deputy Mayor of London for Transport from 2018 to 2021.
