Hackney Wick Overground Station is in Travelcard Zone 2 in the London Borough of Hackney in Hackney Wick which opened 12 May 1980 to replace an older station in the area called Victoria Park Station.
History[]
The station is one of the closest stations to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.
It is also the near the site of the first 'railway' murder in the world, Thomas Briggs who was coming back from Peckham in July 1864 was murdered on a train between Bow and Hackney Wick. More information here [1] and the Wikipedia page on his murderer Franz Müller
