Betty D Vernon (neé Nathan) (born 1918) was a Labour Party politician.

In 1941 she married James W Vernon. The couple lived in Sutton.

A member of the London County Council representing Lewisham West 1958-61. Of the three councillors representing the electoral division was the only Labour one. She had made two previous attempts to gain a seat there at the 1952 and 1955 elections, and she lost her seat in 1961.

In 1964 she was elected an alderman of the new Sutton London Borough Council, having failed to win a seat at Sutton North East ward in the election. In 1968 she won a seat on Sutton council at Carshalton St Helier South ward. She held the seat in 1971 and retired from the council in 1974.

She was also a co-opted member of the Inner London Education Authority.
