Lieutenant-Colonel Andrew Jardine was a Conservative Party politician.

During World War Two Jardine was promoted from the ranks with an emergency commission to become an officer in the Royal Engineers. Following the war he returned to civilian life, but remained in the army's Supplementary Reserve, reaching the rank of lieutenant-colonel. He was awarded the MBE in the 1978 Birthday Honours, at which time he was chairman of the Hammersmith, Hounslow and Richmond War Pensions Committee.

In 1949 he was elected to Brentford and Chiswick Borough Council.

In 1954 he was elected to the Middlesex County Council in a bye-election to represent Brentford and Chiswick East. He held the seat until 1958 when the Labour Party won the seat and took control of the council. In 1961 he regained the seat in what was to be the last county council election before its abolition in 1965.

When the Greater London Council (GLC) was created in 1964 he was chosen by the Conservatives to be an alderman. Following his three-year term on the aldermanic benches he continued on the GLC as one of three elected councillors for the London Borough of Hounslow from 1967-73.

He was Chairman of the Metropolitan Water Board for 1968-69.
