Mrs (Constance) Alice Elliot (nee Impey) (1852-10 April 1931)

Born in India, she was the daughter of Surgeon-General George Halhed Impey. In 1872 she married Frederick Augustus Hugh Elliot in Bombay.He became a chief justice of Bombay before dying in March 1910.

Widowed, she moved to London and was living with her daughters and servants in Paddington in 1911. She subsequently moved to Barons Court and became involved in Conservative Party politics.

She was elected to the London County Council as a member of the Conservative-backed Municipal Reform Party in 1922 as a councillor representing St Pancras North. Re-elected twice, she stood down from the council at the March 1931 elections, shortly before her death.
